Our promise
The missed-link guarantee
If you find a broken, dead, or de-tagged affiliate link on a monitored page before LinkWatch tells you about it, that month of your subscription is free. No forms, no quibble — reply to any digest with the link and we refund the month.
Uptime monitors cap their promises at service credits buried in an SLA. We put ours on the homepage, because catching these links is the product. If we miss one, we didn't earn that month.
The plain-English terms
- Applies to paid plans (Solo and Portfolio), for links on pages that are within your plan's monitored scope (sites you've added, pages reachable from your sitemap or crawl, and affiliate networks we support).
- The issue must be one we monitor for: a dead or removed target, a stripped or missing affiliate tag, a wrong affiliate ID, or a retired network link.
- "Before we tell you" means before the finding appeared in a digest, alert, or your dashboard. Our scan records are the reference — and you can see them.
- The remedy is a refund of the current month's fee for the affected plan. Claims are capped at the fees you paid in the preceding 12 months (that's a legal-cap thing; in practice one claim = one month back).
- Your site needs to have been crawlable at scan time — if your host blocked us or the site was down through a whole scan cycle, that cycle can't count against the guarantee.
The full wording lives in our terms of service. It's short and doesn't contradict anything above.
Why we can offer this and others can't
Tools that route your links through their redirector only see clicks. Tools that ping URLs only see status codes. LinkWatch reads your deployed HTML — the same thing your readers' browsers see — so a stripped tag= parameter or a hijacked affiliate ID is visible to us and invisible to everyone else. When detection is your whole product, you can afford to guarantee it.
